I used to visit the polyclinic for psychology help and get medication from HMC clinic. But I didn’t turn up for my last session (back in july), and can’t reschedule via the NUHS app now. Does that mean I’ll have to start the whol process again? E.g. get doctor referral and wait a few months to see the psychologist and referral to the HMC clinic.
Life has been a little more rough and I’m struggling to cope with my thoughts and emotions more so lately. I do still have left over medication and want to get back on them to sorta help me…?
I’ve stopped my medication back in july, won’t really say i had the doctor’s approval to stop the medication but if i had turned up for the appointment in July, the doctor would probably have done so.
I don’t 100% know if medication works for me but sometimes I treat them as an anchoring point, telling myself that I’ll be okay after i eat my meds.
Feeling lost as to what i should do because i once told myself that polyclinic would be my very last resort and if i stop getting help from thr thn I’ll give up. I don’t know if i want to keep seeking help or let myself rot as i am. Is like if i struggle then struggle, i wouldn’t get any more help.
Hi @sincereseafoam977,
The system can feel really daunting to re-navigate, especially when you’re already struggling.
On the practical question, missing an appointment doesn’t necessarily mean you have to restart the entire process from scratch, but it does depend on how the clinic has recorded your case. The most direct thing to do is to call the polyclinic directly and. It’s worth asking explicitly rather than assuming the worst.
With regards to the medication consumption, I’d gently caution against restarting it on your own without checking with a doctor first. Some medications need to be restarted carefully depending on what they are. I suggest you check in with the pharmacy or seeing the doctor again to clarify this.
I also want to gently acknowledge that you’re not sure if you want to keep seeking help or just let yourself struggle. That feeling of exhaustion with the whole process is understandable, especially when the system feels like it’s putting up barriers. But the fact that you’re here asking these questions suggests part of you does want to find a way through.
