i’ve been struggling a lot the past 7 months, i’ve self-harmed and attempted before but I don’t have an official diagnosis so I can’t assume it’s depression, but I haven’t been getting any better. Recently, i’ve stopped eating unless I have to and i’ve lost a little weight, my bmi is around a 17. I don’t seek help or confide in any of my family or friends because I have trust issues and feel embarrassed talking about my own problems, so I also won’t get professional help. I just want to roughly know what’s going on.
Hello @dazzlingzebra2249
Thank you for taking your time to write in to Let’s talk!
It must have been really exhausting and difficult for you especially the past 7 months, having to manage the overwhelming feelings and feeling like it has not been getting any better. I noticed that you have recently stopped eating and have lost a little weight. The lack of appetite might suggest that your body and mind is going through a lot. It is often a sign there is a lot of things been going on. I also noticed that you don’t really share this with your family and friends due to trust issue and fear of embarrassment talking about what you are going through. It must have been extremely isolating that you can’t share this with anyone. I do want to assure you that it is okay to reach out for support when you need to. There is genuinely nothing embarrassing about reaching out especially if you are struggling with something. You do not have to handle everything on your own. It actually takes a lot of courage to recognize when you need help and take the first step. You deserve proper support and not feel ashamed for wanting it. Perhaps, can I leave some resources for you to consider as a first step? I hope it opens a door to having someone walk alongside you as you go through a difficult time ![]()
