Where to find friends after o levels

hey, after o levels are done there is gonna be a really long break after that and Itll probably be overwhelmingly boring. I didn’t make many friends during my secondary school years so I’m hoping I can find new ones my age(16). any recommendations?

I’m thinking of volunteering though I have not decided on what I want to volunteer for.

There are many volunteering groups. Perhaps you could start with cause-based or interest-based ones.

Alternatively, you could check out this website ( https://www.volunteer.gov.sg) for a start.

Alternatively, you could join the community club events near your house to see if the youth group (youth network) activities interest you.

It really depends on your interests and whether you prefer to go with friends or alone.

I hope you find something soon!

And all the best for your exams! :flexed_biceps:

right now Im kind of artistically inclined, I can produce realistic drawings so I’m looking for more art-oriented volunteer projects? like teaching children art etc ( I actually want to become an art teacher when I’m older)

do you know of any that is similar to what I’m describing?

You can try these

thanks a lot I really appreciate it

There are also really cool art communities and events you could go to! Not affiliated to any, but one I’ve heard of is seni sini  there may also be some art communities/jams out there like sing song socials, or studio open houses

Hello @user7467

Volunteering is a great place to make friends, I made many friends through volunteering, volunteer.gov.sg is a great place to start, particularly if you are looking at youth, opportunities at Youth Corps is a great place to go- there will be many upcoming volunteering opportunities especially cause the school holidays are approaching.

@Wildflower also made a great suggestion to go to your community centre, actually many community centres now have youth network, you can enquire at your nearest cc, they have ad hoc events as well as regular events.

There are also some youth spaces such as Grovve that you can sign up for events or just chill and mingle, find out more at Discover grovve: Your Safe Space for Self-Care & Growth

I hope you find new friends
