So many people nowadays take on shaming people by posting “inconsiderate” behaviours on social media and news outlets. And most of the time people who are having mental meltdown or people with special needs end up being the target of such people.
I guess it’s time for the government to consider curbing the need for social media outlets and news outlets to pay people to post content. That way, we can reduce their desire to pick and shame others online.
yeah, i agree that nowadays whenever something interesting happens in real life, people commonly record these incidents and post them online. im sure their original purpose was probably to criticise the actions themselves, rather than bring harm to the person commiting the action. unfortunately, many keyboard warriors enjoy attacking people anonymously behind a screen, as their own identities are protected and they are able to say things they can’t say offline. im not sure whether the government can stop social media outlets from posting people’s content completely (that’s a bit extreme), but perhaps more people could blur or cover the faces of people captured in videos to protect their privacy! and in this way, they can still demonstrate examples of poor conduct without harming specific individuals :))
i wouldnt say insteresting, but more of trying to shame and humiliate people that dont have the same sense as them.
And most of the time people who post online to shame others, the person posting is also kinda psychological imbalance and believed they are always right and they will not give in.
well…keyboard warrior wouldnt have anything to comment if such post dont exist.
But I agree that there isn’t much being done to curb the keyboard warriors. And often it’s the keyboard warriors’ behavior that further perpetuates stigma
