A large part of my anxiety and panic attacks is due to my financial situation, so I can’t afford to pay for private mental healthcare. Are there subsidies available if I go through the polyclinic referral route? I’m 40 yrs old, and really looking for some help because I’m suffering from anxiety attacks, low mood, poor appetite and constant dread.
@user1594 You can give the Wayfinder tool a try (link below). It provides information on community services available at subsidised rates that might be helpful for your needs. Select the “GP and Polyclinic” option, then enter your age and postal code to locate the nearest Polyclinic (the options will include GPs, so click on the Polyclinic tab instead). Hope this helps!
Yes, you’ll need to go through polyclinic route for subsidy if you plan to get an appointment at the hospital SOC.
However, some polyclinics do see mild to moderate conditions, including assessment, diagnosis, and treatment. Perhaps you could consult the Polyclinic doctor first and ask for advice before asking to be referred to the hospital SOC?
Thanks for the options. I have tried Silver Ribbon before for FOC counselling. Good as they are, I felt I needed medical intervention also. So I’ve decided to look for proper subsidised medical care. But thanks for sharing, much appreciated.
