Hi Hiiamthomas1,
You shared that you have episodes of intense fear/ anxiety, and the experiences led you to :
- heart racing
- Headaches
- Environment feels zoomed out(You are seeing surrounding drifting away ?)
- Mind racing
- Lost concentration
These symptoms are so terrifying and you don’t know what has happened to you ?
The above symptoms can be due to medical or psychological reasons.
Psychological reasons can be due to chronic stress, not enough or bad quality of sleep, worries, past traumatizing experiences, and etc. Chronic stress can lead to symptoms described above according to past records.
However , it can also be due to many medical reasons which I think a medical doctor can advice.
Have you consulted a GP to check on your health conditions ?
If medical cause is ruled out after seeing a doctor, you may want to talk to a counsellor to address those symptoms especially if currently you are experienced lots of stress in your life.
Regardless if the cause is due to medical or psychological, relaxing yourself by engaging some relaxation activities or chat with friends will likely to reduce the intensity of the anxiety attacks. Mindline website has a lot of emotional regulation methods that can be useful to calm yourself down and lower the heart beating pace. You may want to explore on that.
