Idk what u should feel

It’s exam season right now and like I’m supposed to study and all but idk what is with me but my procrastination is really affecting me so much idk why it’s been so serious lately. I mean it is my fault that I’m not making the effort to start or whatever but I just feel so frustrated about it. I’m so mentally stressed out every day and I try to distract myself using my phone and I think it’s not getting any better. What do I do

Dear @realpeacock1256

Thank you for reaching out. Reading your post, I believe you are far from being lazy. Instead you may be showing signs of being mentally exhausted and overwhelmed. It is fairly common to be stressed by upcoming exams such that many of us don’t even feel like we could start revising. In addition, the guilt from procrastination adds on the stress and intense pressure we feel.

I have observed that many of us do turn to phones for a quick relief from stress, but inadvertently we spend more time than we can afford scrolling or being distracted. This again piles on additional frustration and stress as time runs out and work has not been done. This is a vicious cycle and to break it, start small.

Allocate just 10 minutes of study time or set a small target to be completed as a start. Slowly increase the amount of time set aside for study or tasks. Taking an incremental approach has shown to be a helpful way of beating procrastination and building a consistent study habit.

Do be compassionate to yourself as you slowly ramp up your study time. For topics you don’t understand arrange consult with your lecturers so that doubts can be cleared.

Do take tiny steps forward from today to beat procrastination and achieve your aspirations. :yellow_heart:
