Gov job that requires security clearance, to declare about history of mental illnesses or not?

Hi, anyone with gov job that requires security clearance? I unds that suicide has been decriminalised n i luckily attempted after it was decriminalised but what about the history of mental illnesses part? Just say have?

From what I understand, it isn’t necessary to declare mental illness for your job.

That said, I’m answering this with a very general lens. I’m not sure if things change if it is a government job, plus with an added security clearance.

Mmm I personally would share my struggles with my employer, though it is so so difficult to do so.. (but I don’t have a diagnosed condition uh) bcos I feel it would be harder to hide that every day at work especially when it may get stressful and I may need support. And I feel like if some employers would reject me bcos of that, I would prefer so cos I wouldn’t want to work with a boss who isn’t understanding… but I also can imagine practical concerns if I really need a job and I can’t really choose my circumstance and when I really need a job, I’m also not sure what I’ll do then.. I don’t think I’m very helpful here but just thought to share my perspective :see_no_evil_monkey:
