Hi @user7935 ,
Thank you for reaching out and sharing your feelings with such honesty. It takes a lot of courage to acknowledge what you’re experiencing, and I want you to know that your emotions are valid and important. You’re not alone in this, and there are ways to get support.
I hear that you’re concerned about involving your parents. Could you share a little more about why secrecy feels necessary? Are you worried about their reaction, stigma, or something else? Understanding your perspective will help us guide you better.
You might also consider reaching out to a trusted adult, like a school counsellor or teacher, who can advocate for you while respecting your boundaries. Remember, seeking help is a sign of strength, not weakness—you deserve care and support. Would you like to explore some options together?
You’re doing the right thing by asking these questions. Let’s figure out the next steps in a way that feels safe for you.

Hello there,
Thank you for bravely reaching out. I have been in your shoes before and I understand wanting to seek help without involving your parents. In my experience, I was able to get in touch with my school counsellor and have regular counselling sessions without having to involve my parents, as she was understanding towards my situation. However, I understand that this may not be the case for everyone. I would like to recommend: https://www.imh.com.sg/CHAT/Get-Help/webCHAT/Pages/default.aspx, an online resource that connects you with a supporter, should you require respite from your situation. Other than online resources, mental health screening services by Care Corner or CREST are available for those above the age of 13 and may appeal to you. You can refer to this article for other resources as well: Allow youth above 14 to seek help without parental consent: Mental health treatment providers | The Straits Times. I recommend you to do ample research in order to find the resource that is best suited to your needs. I wish you all the best and I hope you can find the support that you need!
