hi @Otterworldly ,

I assume you will be graduating soon, and if that is the case, big congratulations to you for completing your education!

Feeling mixed emotions is normal as you look forward to an unfamiliar phase in life. Have confidence in yourself and the knowledge you have gained in school!

I remembered when i first landed a job, i was so excited to meet everyone at my new workplace. I was also afraid of messing things up. Thankfully, my workplace had a “buddy system” for new joiners, which means i had someone acting like a mentor. Having a mentor really helped me adapt to the new environment (e.g., explaining to me the various processes i should follow, getting my access rights for various computer systems that i would be using for the job, accompanying me to lunch, etc.).

I wish you the best as you transition into a chapter

dang time is truly SPRINTing by omg…

firstly, huge congrats on finishing your exams!!:confetti_ball: please take this time to really rest and recharge – spend time with your loved ones and do the things that bring you joy heheh

i think i’m in the same life stage as you – about to step into the working world. and yeah, i def feel that same weird mix of excitement and anxiety. on one hand, i’m really looking forward to immersing myself in a new environment, challenging myself, learning, and growing. but there’s also that worry about making mistakes or how i might come across to others, especially since work feels like a more “high-stakes” setting?

lately, i’ve been trying to give myself more grace and not be so hard on myself. reminding myself that mistakes don’t mean i’m incompetent – they’re just part of the learning curve. instead of spiralling, i try to focus on how i fixed the mistake, or how i can improve next time.

i also want to be intentional about maintaining my friendships. i’ve heard that starting work can really test your social life – everyone’s busy and unless you make the effort to meet up, it just doesn’t happen. i think having strong social support will be so impt during this season, just to have that sense of familiarity and connection amidst all the newness. and of course, knowing that you’re not going through this alone is such a comfort too :”)

hbu? is there anything you’re doing (or thinking of doing) to make this transition smoother or to protect your mental well-being? rooting for you and wishing you all the best for what’s ahead !! :heart_hands:
