Reaching out to ask for support is not stupid at all. In fact, it is actually a really healthy and proactive thing to do. Your caseworker is there to help you and letting her know you need a session is exactly the kind of thing she would want to hear from you.
To be honest, the texting anxiety is really common, and it makes sense that it feels harder when the topic feels heavy or vulnerable. Sometimes it helps to keep the text really short like “Hey xxx, can we find a time to meet? There’s some things I want to share.” You don’t have to explain everything in the text, that’s what the session is for.
It might also be worth bringing up the texting anxiety with her when you do meet, because if reaching out feels like a barrier, that’s something she can help you work around. Eg, setting up a regular check-in schedule so you don’t have to initiate as often.
And regarding the SH/SI, I’m glad you’re able to talk to someone about it. That’s the right move, and your caseworker is a good person to have in your corner for this. If things feel urgent or unsafe for you, please do not hesitate to reach out to SOS at 1767 or 9151 1767 (their Care-Text Line on WhatsApp)
You’ve already done the hard part of recognising that you need support, sending the text is the next small step, ok?
