Weird emotions

Since last night, my mood has been very unstable. I was crying but after a few seconds I suddenly stopped and couldn’t cry anymore.

Then today, my mood was also like a roller coaster. Being happy when waking up, then suddenly feeling very sad and want to cry (breakdown kinda cry)

I also have thoughts like giving up on everything and myself etc :pensive: I don’t know what I can do now. I have no one to talk to :frowning:

Hi @4ever

I’m sorry to hear you are experiencing these challenges and applaud you for seeking help. Please know you are not alone. I have observed that our body responds to stresses around us, some of which can trigger adverse reactions such as crying uncontrollably, mood swings and a negative thinking spiral.

Your feelings are valid and understandable as I gather you are going through a stressful period. It is recommended you speak to a Counsellor with some urgency. Besides your school Counsellor, here are other community options you can consider:

  1. Call the Singapore Association for Mental Health (SAMH) - 1800-283 7019
  2. Use the IMH CHAT: (https://www.imh.com.sg/CHAT/Get-Help/webCHAT/Pages/default.aspx)
  3. Call SOS - 1767
  4. Call Care Corner Counselling Centre - 1800-353 5800.

Please get the help you need soonest. You can overcome this and manage. I have observed first hand that what you are experiencing can be overcome by taking steps such as speaking to a Counsellor and practising the skills taught. You can get better!

Thanks for sharing @4ever, were there any triggers that made you cry?

I’m not very sure, it just happens suddenly out of no where

Have you considered seeing a professional? You can also talk to us here but it might be a bit hard for us to fully understand what you’re going through.

@4ever Would using a mood diary help? This can be as simple as jotting down how you’re feeling throughout the day and noting any potential triggers or patterns. For example, you could track what you were doing or thinking just before your mood shifted. Over time, this might help you better understand what’s affecting your emotions and identify moments when you need to reach out for extra support (e.g., family, peers, school counsellor, etc).
