My friend is an original character (OC) creator. He wants to delete an old account that people think was a real person.
Basically the situation is that he once started an account under a pen name for the sole purpose of sharing video game OCs because he thinks if he posted on his personal account, he will be judged and criticized. But then, he saw that the account was getting more popular than his personal one, so what he does is that he claims he is “friends” with that account and the “person” running that account has family matters and becomes inactive, so said “person” gives their OCs to my friend and simply continue working on those OCs like they were his own from the very start (which technically is)
My friend is simply worried that one day someone might find out he and that “person” are the same person and not two different users, even though it’s already known an online community that the “person” has been inactive for 1 year. To be honest, the “person”'s given details were actually rather similar to the trivial details of friends I actually know in real life, but combined into one “person”. Also, whether he was on his personal account or as this “person” in the past, my friend always had a kind personality.
I know the situation sounds like catfishing, but I don’t think it is. Catfishing is for bad purposes. My friend never did anything bad, he was simply afraid of being judged from the start. Additionally, no one ever realized anything, even when such a long time has passed.
Any advice for my friend?
(let me know if you need detailed explanations since it is quite complicated)
