The holiday season can get unnerving for some people. While almost everyone else seems to be enjoying to the hilt, there are some of us who feel lonely even in crowds.
Breaks, or even slowdown, indicating a change in the predictable everyday, can tend to be disturbing. For some, the lack of usual white noise can seem as loud as the deafening party atmosphere. The sheer pressure to be in a celebratory mood can get overwhelming.
If this resonates with you, here’s a shout out to you. It’s okay, to choose not to partake in the revelry, or have limited exposure only as much as comfort allows. Feel free to pour your heart out in this space. Join the conversation.

Hi @IFeelYourPain, thank you so much for highlighting this because I feel that it’s such an underrated topic! Especially towards year end and the new year, there are some people who don’t celebrate and there are also some people who feel lonely despite the festive vibes. Hence, I believe that it is still important to check on our loved ones even during this festive time of the year although people might think that everyone’s happy during this period of time.

Hello @IFeelYourPain !!
This message is really empathetic and a sincere recognition of the unsaid hardships that some individuals experience throughout the holidays. Please know that you are not the only one who feels this way if it speaks to you. It’s OK to respect your feelings, no matter how complicated they may be, and to not feel happy simply because everyone else appears to.
Feelings of loneliness, worry, or even just plain tiredness from the pressure of expectations might be triggered by the holidays. Setting limits, taking a step back, and only participating in activities that feel fulfilling to you are all entirely acceptable. Your comfort is what counts, whether that means choosing calmer places, spending more time alone, or avoiding stressful situations.
This is the place to go if you want to express your feelings or opinions. Even a little amount of talking might ease the burden. Additionally, it’s OK if sharing words seems too burdensome at the moment. You may go at your own speed on this voyage. Warmth is being sent your way.
