When will the chase end

Everyday I find myself and many of us struggle to meet ends meet. This struggles extended to late of our later years. I really hope that one day what we saved and made could be more liquid and if parked somewhere may offset the rising cost. If not i see a life of eternal struggle and never seeing an end.

life is always going to give you some struggle but do not let it get to you. you can make the best out of the least or make the worse out of the most! you can make simple experiences make u feel empowered. there are ways u can make ur savings work so do plan it through good research!

Hey @user6973
It’s so hard when it feels like no matter how much we save or work, the rising costs keep pushing us back. I hope you find moments of peace and small wins along the way. even tiny steps toward financial freedom or self-care can help ease that feeling of an endless chase.
and just keep in mind you are not alone in this, may we all get to a place of peace beyond this struggle :hibiscus: :seedling: :sparkles:

Yeah I get what you mean… it really feels like we’re just trying to stay afloat most of the time  everything’s getting more expensive, and even when we try to save or plan ahead, it doesn’t always feel like it’s enough. It’s tiring when it feels like we’re working so hard just to keep up, not even to get ahead.

I also wish the money we saved could stretch further or grow in a way that actually helps us. It can get frustrating…

But I still hope that with time, we’ll find better ways — whether it’s through smarter financial tools, more support, or just learning from each other. Even if it’s slow, I believe we’ll figure it out bit by bit. You’re not alone in this, and I really hope things get lighter for all of us :yellow_heart:

Hey @user6973 ,

I understand, ans the thought of the troubles we may have in the future paralyzes me too sometimes.

When i run into such states of anxiety, i remind myself that there is so much more to life than money. Friendships, family, and love keeps us afloat too. Please dont forget to take care of yourself in such tiring times - find time to do what makes you happy, and love yourself. You got this

Hi user6973,

I hear you. With the rising cost in singapore, it really can get stressful. May I know if you’re having struggling with income issue or you feel hard to save aside?

If it’s income issue, can try to do some part time job to supplement or cut down spending (wants). If it’s feeling hard to save, suggest setting a clear goal on why you want to hit a certain goal, without the “why”, can be very hard

hi @user6973 ,

I feel you! I can give you a tip: you can try to look at your monthly expenses and cut out those you do not need (or find alternatives). For example, if you have the habit of buying Starbucks after lunch, consider instant coffee instead.

A dollar saved is a dollar earned, all the best!

Hi, OP!

I feel you as a foreigner working in Singapore. Even though I’d say that I’m privileged to have a full-time job here, it’s still not easy with the looming student loans and expensive living cost.

There’s this one song that stuck by me by my favourite band, Mili. It’s called “Sleep Talk Metropolis” and the lyrics are quite straight-forward but hits so hard. Basically it’s about being in a rat race, afraid of running out of time and dreaming about a better tomorrow that doesn’t seem to come at all. It’s sad that we have to spend so much time working to get money in order to “live”.

That being said, even in dire situations like this, it’s good to remember to find little pockets of joy in our life. Friends, events, trips, hobbies, or even a funny or interesting thing that happened on your way back home. It won’t solve the problem of capitalism, but it keeps us going. It keeps us fighting to live on for the next day.
