I feel anxiety and heart palpitations

Whenever I think about going to work I can’t help to feel anxiety, fearful to check my company phone or would say avoiding it during my off days.

And now because I am leaving the workplace soon as I couldn’t stand anymore. Every now and then they will pick on my handover notes and these affect my emotion and made me feel fearful and anxiety. They also start pin point my mistakes or enlarged my mistakes.

Dear @user391942

Thank you for reaching out. From your sharing, I sense that your workplace environment has not been a healthy one. You have had enough and resigned. I believe this is an act of self care and protects your mental health. Please know that I am quite sure your experience resonates with many people.

As part of handing over your job, you proactively provided a handover list. However you find your colleagues are unfairly critical of it. Understandably, you dread their calls, and feeling anxious about your interactions with them.

May I gently suggest you consider speaking to a HR rep on what has been happening and share with them the unfair treatment and practices you have been subjected to.

I can see how difficult this journey has been for you and believe by bringing up to higher authorities you could get some much needed support and advocacy.

I also believe it will help you to process your thoughts and better manage your anxiety if you speak to a counsellor soon. For immediate support, do consider reaching out to the mindline hotline at 1771. It is staffed by counsellors who are non judgmental and provide you high quality mental health support as you go through this period. The hotline operates 24/7.

Trusted family and friends are also valuable sources of support to tap on.

Please know that you are not alone in this so keep reaching out for support whenever needed. :yellow_heart:
