I’m tired all the time

Recently (for the past 2-3 weeks or so) i’ve been feeling tired and exhausted constantly. I get ample sleep every day (about 7-10 hours) and I’d say it’s quality sleep (??). But during the day, i feel like sleeping even though it’s so hard to fall asleep. Everytime i try to take a nap, i physically cannot sleep. It’s like my mind is blank and i’m not absorbing anything, i’m just barely breathing and keeping myself steady. It’s seeping into my academics aswell where i often blank out and blur out talking during class.

I’d say my physical activity is quite low-ish, but not enough to affect my energy level. And i try to avoid screens as much as possible.

is this chronic stress? Poor sleep quality? Idk

Dear @user1329

Thank you for reaching out to better understand what you are experiencing. Reading your post, I gather that though the duration of night sleep is not affected, the sleep quality has been low and not restful. Understandably, you are wondering if this is contributing to the daytime sleepiness.

You also mentioned this sleepiness could be a result of chronic stress. It would good to explore the mindline website for resources on stress especially to understand symptoms.

I recommend speaking to a medical professional soon to investigate the sleepiness and if there are underlying medical conditions causing the symptoms. If it is found that it is not a medical condition, you can ask for referral to a mental health professional to help you.

I encourage you to seek much deserved support soon.
