Psy issues vs insurance

Dear @AnxietyEmployee

Thank you for writing in, sharing what you have encountered when purchasing insurance.

It is understandable that you are feeling anxious and depressed about the experience as you intended to buy insurance protection in case of unforeseen accidents that require hospitalisation. That is a responsible action by you.

Furthermore you had been honest in making the declaration on your mental health when purchasing the policies as you prefer to be above board. This honesty too is laudable.

Please do not be discouraged. May I suggest you speak to the agent to clarify what other options you have to get accident coverage that includes hospitalisation charges. If possible, speak to another agent or call / write to one of the insurance providers.

Meanwhile, I can see that you are doing your best to manage your current mental health. Despite your efforts though, during trying periods, it is inevitable to feel hopelessness and hurt. I feel your pain.

Please do consider that when thoughts of shame and hopelessness arise, hold them lightly and respond to them with self compassion. Remind yourself how far you have come and then focus on doing what you need to do to that moment. I believe slowly the grip of unhelpful thoughts can loosen, and reduce distress. You are already taking actions to address your mental health, so continue to focus on the treatment.

The community here is also available to support you do reach out whenever needed. Please take good care.:yellow_heart:
