Hey capableswan906,

Losing someone and then having to push through one of the biggest exams of your life, that’s genuinely a lot to carry at once and it makes sense that you’re looking for a way to function than just sit in the grief.

Sometimes keeping a very simple daily structure can help you during this time. For instance, not having an overwhelming schedule with consistent wake time, meals and doing productive things each day. Grief makes everything feel formless and small routines create a little ground to stand on.

It’s also worth being honest with yourself that your concentration and memory may not be at their usual level right now but that’s not a personal failure on your part. Working in shorter focused bursts rather than long study sessions tends to work better during periods like this.

During this overwhelming season right now, would you want to consider seeking support from your school counsellor to help process how you’re doing right now?
