I unfortunately met a lot of ppl who pissed me off from the start of 2025 and my brain kept ruminating them. I healed from worrying ruminations thru therapy but this anger ruminations is new to me. Partly also because im busy with a coding bootcamp, so i didnt use my usual coping mechanism by hanging out w ppl.
running worked for me last time, so i started running again everyday but its only day 3, so the effects of running haven’t set in yet
Hi @user1138
I’m glad you’re acknowledging your struggles with anger rumination and taking proactive steps to address it.
Well done on tapping on running as a way to cope. Running can help alleviate tension and reduce stress. Focusing on your run can distract you from ruminative thoughts. Regular running can increase endorphins, improving your mood and reducing anger.
Some other methods I suggest are:
- Mindfulness and meditation: Practice mindfulness techniques to increase self-awareness and calm your mind.
- Journaling: Write down your thoughts and feelings to process and release them.
- Seek social support: Reach out to friends, family, or a therapist for emotional support and guidance.
- Prioritise self-care: Ensure you’re getting enough sleep, eating a balanced diet, and engaging in relaxing activities.
Do also consider to:
- Celebrate small wins: Acknowledge and celebrate each day you complete your run and work on managing your anger.
- Be patient: Recognise that it may take some time to notice the effects of running and other coping mechanisms.
Keep in mind that it’s okay to experience setbacks, and don’t hesitate to seek help when needed. You got this!
