How am I feeling today?

It’s funny how we always ask others, “How are you?” or “How’s life?” But how often do we actually ask ourselves that?

We get so caught up in checking in on everyone else that we forget—we’re human too. We matter too. And it’s totally okay (and necessary!) to put ourselves first sometimes.

Take a second and just ask yourself: “How am I really feeling today?”*
Not the automatic “I’m fine” or “I’m tired,” but really… how am I doing?

Whatever the answer is, it’s okay. It’s okay to feel tired, annoyed, happy, sad, or just meh. Emotions are part of being human. What really matters is how we deal with them, not whether we’re always okay.

So go take that break. Do something that makes you feel good—watch a show, go for a walk, blast your favorite song, or treat yourself to some ice cream. Whatever works for you.

These little moments with yourself? They matter. A lot. Be kind to yourself. You deserve that.

And if you ever wanna talk more about this stuff, I’m always happy to share!

I second this! It almost feels like second nature someone, “How you are doing?”
However, we don’t really give ourselves the moment to think beyond the surface. It may be overwhelming to question yourself but let’s incorporate this practice in our daily lives so we can really answer the question with, “I’m fine” being 100% sure we are fine ourselves!

Yes, agreed! This post is a timely reminder:) I am feeling slightly tired from writing essays but I am excited as I am going out with my family for dinner later today.

Thank you for sharing this insightful reminder. It is so important to check in with ourselves and acknowledge our own feelings. We often get caught up in our busy lives and forget to take a moment for self-care.

To everyone reading this, remember that it is okay to prioritize our own well-being (we must take care of ourselves before we can take care of others). Take a moment today to be kind to ourselves. Whether it is taking a break, enjoying a hobby, or simply relaxing, these small acts of self-care can make a big difference.

As a community, let us all support each other in this journey of self-care and self-compassion.
