OverThinking some time
hey @user2471 ! I think that it is okay to overthink sometimes, but we should try our best to not let it affect our emotions or actions!
Maybe you can try to write it out or talk to someone about your what you are thinking/feeling, it does help me to break down my thoughts and have a clearer view on the situation.
Do you want to share more about what causes you to overthink? I am happy to lend you a listening ear
It’s okay to overthink, but it’s not okay to not acknowledge when you are overthinking. Try to notice everytime you are overthinking and take a quick breathing exercise, helps you relax your body and mind.
@user2471 i feel you… i understand how debilitating and exhausting overthinking can be, and how frustrating it is when you just want to stop thinking about sth but your mind won’t stop spinning! for me, something that’s helped is writing my thoughts down in bullet points on my notes app. somehow just seeing them laid out makes my mind feel less cluttered and noisy.
i’ve also found that keeping myself occupied with little side quests (eg. picking up a hobby, joining a new club, cooking) has been vv helpful for me! i realised that my overthinking is worst when i spend too much time alone – that’s when my thoughts can really spiral. these days, i try to hang out with friends more often, even if it’s just to study tgt or grab a meal. as @milk mentioned, talking to them about how i feel also rlly helps me gain fresh, more objective perspectives that make me feel 10x better!
lastly, volunteering has done wonders – it rlly helps to take me out of my own head (?) and reminds me that the world is so much bigger than whatever’s stressing me out in the moment. volunteering kinda grounds me and gives my life more meaning haha
not sure if any of this would work for you, but just thought i’d share in case something resonates! no pressure at all, but if you ever feel like talking about what’s been weighing on your mind lately, i’m here to listen. sometimes just sharing makes a big difference
Hello! I think it is alright to overthink occasionally, and I feel you!
I wholeheartedly agree with what @milk has written, penning down my thoughts does help me to process what has happened.
Alternatively, you can also confide in your loved ones such as your friends and family too
hi @user2471,
Like other have already said, overthinking is perfectly normal thing to do. I would like to add that it is important try not to let it impact your emotions or actions too much. I like the idea of writing stuff down or take a quick breathing exercise to relax
If you are still having troubles, you can share your worries here (only if you are comfortable to do so)
