Hey @manda1 I SO GET IT, I just ended my period this week and each period I would always have stomach cramps, diarrhea, fatigue, and leg cramps indeed. I salute to all the girls out there carrying out daily life like it’s normal

I usually take medicine like pain killers to help myself, especially on days when I have to go work or events. Heat packs are also my comfort at home, makes it instantly better as well. Sending love and care to all the gurls out there, you are all so stronggg :sparkling_heart:

Hi guys, I too hate periods. You know I really wish companies are more understanding of period cramps like although I am not legit sick, I feel so bad and uncomfortable that I can’t really function. I feel like a zombie. I really just hope companies stop belittling period like I know period cramps differ person to person but please just give benefit of doubt that we are really in pain for some ladies and not skipping work or something. Anyway salute and respect to women <3

I must admit that I was one of those annoying girls when I was younger that didn’t get cramps, no like pimple outbreaks etc throughout puberty… But as I got older I feel like my body feels more affected by the monthly hormonal changes. I swear the physical effects of my period definitely got worse as I age. I still don’t get bad cramps (and i’m sorry for all of you girlies who do :persevere:), but the bloating and just lethargy is so real.

Totally agree with @hereforyou that normalising people needing time off or slower paced days because of their periods at the workplace is so so important. Like 14 days of MC isn’t just for fever cough flu. And no, nobody should feel ashamed about having to call in sick, whether they are down with food poisoning, period cramps or mental health struggles. We all deserve to rest when we don’t feel well.

Can I also just point out that women dealing with periods monthly goes beyond just the physical discomfort? Like the whole logistics aspect of it can get so stressful. You’d think like after dealing with it every month for over a decade, you’d get used to it at some point. But hey, just because we have practice, and just because “everyone goes through the same thing” doesn’t mean it is EASY. Periods don’t just vary from woman to woman, it varies from month to month. From having to plan how many pads I’ll need before going out, to selecting the right wardrobe choices (goodbye white pants :disappointed:), and the constant worry when tossing over at night :sob:… There’s just so much a woman needs to spend their energy on simply because of this biological clockwork they can’t control!! So please, the next time someone tells you they’re not feeling their best because they are on their period, be a little more generous towards them. A little empathy goes a long way in de-stigmatising people voicing out their vulnerabilities.

Am writing this on the worst day of my monthly cycle so just wanted to say good job to all you strong women out there for making through yet another one of these tough days!!! :muscle:t2::muscle:t2::muscle:t2::muscle:t2: Also if you were kind to somebody suffering because they were on their period, you’re a gem :gem:
