The channel said seeking help but I’m not sure if I’m ready to seek for help yet.
I’ve been trying to skip meals or try to find a way to avoid eating and it does affect me physically, however I feel satisfied when the physical symptoms like dizziness happen. It’s like I’m obsessed with the dizziness because that means I’m eating less. It’s pathetic and wrong but yeah I’m not exactly loving towards myself either.
Not sure where to go from here though, because changing needs willpower and I don’t think I deserve anything better if I’m still doing this petty thing to myself. It’s not like I’m at risk of harm because I would stop if I ever reach a limit. Question is, I still don’t know what my limit is and it’s wrong to figure out, right?
Hey there, what you are saying requires courage and I am glad you reached out… Restricting food, finding satisfaction in physical symptoms of depravation and having feelings like you don’t deserve better are not petty… These are things that many people struggle with… Also, when you say that you would stop when you reach a limit, that’s not really a safe way to find the limit… It would be better if someone can follow through with you on this journey to take small steps to help you… You don’t have to wait to be ready to reach out for support… You could start by reaching out to GP, or Polyclinic to get a mental health assessment where they could do a referral out… You could also call the nearest Family Service Centre to seek a counsellor for long term support… Please also do reach out to us at 1771 or Whatsapp us at 6669 1771 to speak to one of our counsellors at any time, we are available 24/7… Take care…
