What do you guys do in your semester break?

Hi everyone!

Just wanting to get some ideas on how to spend time wisely during semester breaks.

not sure if it’s the best way to spend time but I usually take a lot of part-time jobs during semester breaks as a way to keep myself occupied and try new stuff. I also game at night to de-stress haha

Hi! I’m currently on my semester break too! I’ve been spending this time catching up on hobbies that I was not able to engage in as much due to school commitments. I have been reading and trying to visit the gym more these days! I also want to venture into other activities such as yoga and pilates and have signed up for a few classes! Any time spent doing the things you enjoy is time well spent, take this time to let loose and relax as much as possible

Hello, usually during the semester breaks I’ll take some time to hangout with past friends from previous schools or activities.

I’ll also take the time to explore my creativity in starting a new project, or going out and seeing what events are happening nearby.

i feel like there’s no wrong way to spend the break~ school semesters are really hectic for everyone, so i think if anyone needs some time to rest at home or binge watch some new shows and movies, that’s totally fine haha

like what others have already shared, picking up a new hobby could be fun  personally im trying to write my own music and learn a new language! i know people who also enjoy more arts and crafts, crocheting and painting :star_struck:

Hello! I will usually try to take some days off just to rest, such as going to the library to read and go cafe hopping! And yes I definitely agree with others on using the break to pick up a hobby:)

I usually spend my semester breaks doing stuff I’ve always wanted to try, but also making sure to rest a lot. I sound like I do a lot, but it’s mostly because if I don’t keep busy, I get really fidgety and bored. Some of the things I do:

  1. Spend time with family — visiting my grandparents, hanging out or going out with them, and sometimes having lunch with my mom at her workplace.
  2. Chill hard — sleeping in, waking up to binge-watch shows like Resident Playbook (finished it in 3 days!).
  3. Read for fun — I love books but rarely have time during school, so I borrow all kinds from comics to classics to self-help. Already finished 4 books this break!
  4. Exercise — I both love and hate it. I go to the gym but more for chill sessions where I rest more than work out. It’s a nice way to pass time without pressure.
  5. Internships — I do one that’s remote and task-based, so I can work when I want. I usually binge all my work in 2 days and free up the rest of the week.
  6. Hang out with friends — catching up and just having fun.
  7. Random side quests — going to academic talks, volunteer events, free workshops, or taking random online courses (some I never finish).
  8. Writing — I’ve always wanted to write a novel, so I’m slowly working on it.
  9. Tidying — Marie Kondo style, clearing and organizing my space.
  10. Planning — calendars, reflections, setting goals.
  11. Arts and crafts — clay or whatever creative stuff I feel like.
  12. Karaoke — screaming into my mic with YouTube playing on the TV.

Honestly, breaks are about doing whatever you want and enjoying the time off!
