What’s One Thing You Wish More People Understood About You?

Hey everyone,

We all have things that make us unique, and sometimes it feels like no one truly gets it. I’m curious, what’s one thing you wish more people understood about you?

It could be something about how you think, how you feel, or maybe a part of your personality that often gets misunderstood. Maybe it’s the way you need your space, how you express emotions, or just the way you see the world.

For me personally, I wish people understood that just because I’m extroverted and chatty, doesn’t mean I enjoy talking to everyone and anyone! It’s just something quirky about me

What about you?
What do you wish people would know about you?
What’s something that would help people see you for who you really are?

hi @cottonsoul ,

I am the opposite of you. The older i get, the more introverted and quiet i get. However, that does not mean that i am unsociable.

I also tend to internalize my feelings, and sometimes it can be hard for others to see when I’m struggling. It’s important to me that people know I appreciate their support, even if I don’t always show it outwardly. I am sure many others here can relate to me

Hi @Rotovap !

Thanks for sharing! And ah yes, the classic “quiet on the outside, thunderstorm of thoughts on the inside” vibe - I see you! :couch_and_lamp::sparkles: It’s beautiful how you’ve embraced your evolving introversion and still loving the connection with others. And hey, just because you’re not waving emotional flags doesn’t mean you’re not feeling deeply! I bet your inner world is rich and nuanced, and you’ll probably show that part of you to people who mean something to you  That’s wonderful!

Quick question… When you do choose to let someone into that quiet part, what usually helps you feel safe enough to open that door, even just a little?

Hey @cottonsoul ,

Thank you for the response! I would open up when i sense the presence of trust and empathy. For example, i have a close friend i grew up with who always listens without judgment and shows genuine concern for my well-being. The person never prompted me to share more than i’m comfortable with, and would always offer a supportive presence. Whenever we argue, the person never turn any of my problems against me (which makes this person absolutely amazing). This kind of understanding and patience makes it easier for me to open up, knowing that i’m in a safe and caring environment.

What about yourself?

I’m actually introverted and occasionally I do get anxious meeting and talking to others.
