I created this website around July, and now I’m back. I need some advice about school. I didn’t finish school, so I don’t have any qualifications beyond a PSLE. It’s hard to find a job these days, and I can’t work in F&B because of health issues that make me dizzy when standing for too long. I really need qualifications. If anyone knows of websites that offer courses without fees or opportunities to study overseas, please share them with me.
Hello there, thank you for sharing your concerns, I hear you! I think the best first step would be to take up a few skills by enrolling yourself in training courses. Here are some free ones to consider:
While I am not too sure about free overseas study options, it would be useful for you to enhance your qualifications by completing a few of these courses They can give you a better idea on what sector you wish to work in as well. Hope this helps!
How have you been? I remembered the one you shared before about being forced to drop out at 13 and how lost you felt at 22. It’s brave that you’ve come back here again.
It sounds like since July you’ve been carrying a lot on your own. Now looking for courses and qualifications and still trying to find a way out for yourself is not a small thing.
I’m curious, over these months between your first post and now, what have you been up to? Have there been small things, routines or people that have helped you cope or kept you going while you search for next steps?
We can also look at realistic training or study options together when you’re ready, but for now I wanted to check in on how you’ve been holding yourself through all of this.
Good to hear that you are still moving forward. You mentioned that you needed qualifications, is there something that you have in mind or planned? Because you mentioned about not being able to work in F&B because of health issues that makes you dizzy. Are you getting treatment for your health issues?
I went for a medical checkup and found out I have an iron deficiency. I used to work in F&B, but it didn’t work out because standing for long periods caused me to faint or feel dizzy. My coworkers suggested I shouldn’t work in F&B since it requires being on your feet for many hours.
Ok, standing on your feet all day can be taxing for you then. Any roles that you have thought about not requiring heavy physical commitments? Have you explored any skills assessment to help you discover and understand your interests better?
