Dear user1203

Thank you for your courage to talk about the anxiety you are facing which is related to work.

Firstly I assure you that this feeling of anxiety around work is very prevalent among many of us. How not to be, when there are always pressing deadlines, unclear instructions, mixed signals from supervisors, changing goal posts. The world of work is undeniably complex multifaceted and challenging. This feeling of anxiety is especially common if you are someone dedicated to doing a good job. May I suggest these strategies to help manage anxiety:
Reflect on your accomplishments. Make a list of your successes and the obstacles you overcame to achieve results.

Identify specific areas you feel you need to work on. Be clear and come up with a dedicated plan to improve in these areas. Celebrate small achievements and be compassionate to yourself when things don’t go as planned. What was in your control? Stick to adjusting that and spend less time on uncontrollables.

Set realistic goals. Break tasks into steps. Write down those steps and move forward a little at a time. See the progress you are making and learn from what goes right and what does not go as right.

Take breaks. Prioritise self-care. Work will never finish. Target a hard stop by a certain time every day. Refresh and relax thereafter. Come back stronger the next day.

Challenge negative thoughts, overgeneralization, black and white thinking and catastrophizing. Reframe these and focus on optimistic more balanced thoughts and views of yourself instead of listening to that incessantly harsh self-critic.

Seek support from trusted friends and family or a professional counsellor.

Remember it’s ok to have some anxiety but choose to not let it define your self worth. Work is a small dimension of your life, you are much more than just work!

Take care :hearts:
