I have no one to talk to

I don’t know what to do anymore. My grades are so bad and my parents are always putting pressure on me and they have such high expectations. I have no friends so I am alone all the time. I have been in a depressive state for almost 2 years and I don’t know how to overcome it. I don’t know how to cope so I resort to self harm and I don’t know how to stop. I tried speaking to the school counselor but they ended up not even meeting me. I don’t know what to do anymore I just feel helpless and I had no reason to live anymore.. just feels like I am still here because I need to be. I already tried to help myself by talking to someone but end up no one cares to even help me. I just feel hopeless now.. I can’t help myself anymore

Hi @idkwhatimdoing

Thanks for sharing… Reading your posts, I sensed a long, heavy tiredness: two years of feeling low, no friends, pressure from parents, attempts to get help that were shut down, and self-harm showing up as the only way to cope. That mix is terrifying and urgent.

Reading it felt like watching someone keep carrying a bag that’s getting heavier and heavier until they can’t lift a finger. The shame about grades and being let down by the school counsellor that alone, clearly would hollow anyone out.

Quick check for you: right now, what are you thinking about when you said “no reason to live anymore”, are you feeling you might act on these thoughts in the next 24 hours?

if you feel you might act now or hurt yourself,
• please make your way down to any emergency services in hospitals that is nearest to you for support.
• if you feel overwhelmed: call National Mindline 1771, SOS 1-767 or WhatsApp +65 6669 1771, they can stay with you on the phone and help you through the moment.

Some sensing and grounding to try if you can,

  1. slow breaths (in for 4, out for 4) and 5-4-3-2-1 grounding
  2. name 5 things you see, 4 you can touch…. these don’t fix everything but they help you to delay getting overwhelmed.
  3. Try to stay where another person can check on you and ask them to help remove anything you might use to hurt yourself.
  4. If there’s one person you might text or call (anyone that you met and you know that they trust you).

I want you to know you deserve someone who shows up. If you are up for it, write a short whatsapp message you can send to a friend, asking them to be with you now, and/or make a 1-page safety plan you can screenshot and keep. If you can, please answer about immediate plans, it helps us attend to you!

If it’s ok to add a couple of things that weren’t repeated above: You did something very brave by posting this. We are holding this space with you here for as long as you need.
