Im kinda at a loss

I haven’t been feeling hungry the past few weeks because of a lot of stress and i’ve stopped eating as much unless I have to, usually im just below 46kg at 162cm but i’ve dropped to a baseline of 44kg sometimes mid 43kg. Even after eating i remain below 45kg, and for some reason I keep weighing myself and feeling fat? I know i’m not but something is convincing me that I am and that I shouldn’t eat because it’s a waste of money and time and that it’s not a need to eat. I mean the weight loss isn’t that bad but I think its unhealthy to keep doing this to myself, do I just keep eating even though i don’t want to?

Hi there dazzlingzebra2249, thank you for reaching out today!

I want to be upfront with you, it is really concerning to hear that at 162cm your weight has been dropping from 46kg to now a low of 43kg, and that you still feel ‘fat’ even at that weight. That said, I am glad that some part of you recognises that it is not healthy for your weight to keep dropping, and I think that is part of why you reached out today because you knew something was not right.

You mentioned that you have not been feeling hungry because of stress. Have you been able to talk to anyone about what has been causing that stress? Especially since it has gotten to the point where it is affecting your physical health.

Things might feel manageable for now, but these things do add up over time, and we want to catch it before it gets to that point.

To answer your question, yes, please do keep eating even if it is just small bites or something light. Your body needs fuel to function, to handle stress, and to think clearly. Not eating will only add to the load your body is already carrying.

But I also want to be honest with you, just telling yourself to eat more is really hard when your brain is sending you those messages. This is not something that willpower alone can fix, and it deserves proper support.
