Hi, I’m reaching out because I’ve been feeling a bit stuck and unsure how to move forward.
Lately, I’ve noticed that my mind is constantly active with ideas and thoughts, but I been procrastinating to take action, especially when it comes to self-improvement or learning. I also tend to feel quite low in energy or unmotivated at home, even though I try to maintain routines like exercise and reducing distractions.
I wouldn’t say I feel depressed, but there’s a sense that I might be at a crossroads in life. I’ve been thinking more about time passing and whether I’m using it meaningfully, and that sometimes makes it harder to get started on things. I’m in my mid 30s now and I wonder if this is a symptom of midlife crisis or just burnout?
I’ve tried different approaches on my own, like changing environment, limiting distractions, etc. Yet I still feel like I’m not making progress. I think I might benefit from some guidance or an outside perspective to better understand what’s going on and how to structure myself.
Thank you for reaching out as you figure out your path ahead. I think what you described is very common and many of us can identify with what you are currently experiencing. I believe you are at a transition phase and facing both fatigue and burnout.
Understandably you are feeling stuck and unsure what to do next. That is only human.
May I gently suggest the following:
Be compassionate to yourself and give yourself space to learn and grow as you try out new interests. Dedicate time daily to read or learn at your own pace.
Write ideas down and select one small action you can easily do for 10 mins, without being uninterrupted. That could help you be fully immersed and overcome initial inertia.
Be consistent first, without worrying about progress. Slowly you will gain momentum and progress will naturally follow.
Speak to a counsellor who can journey with you and provide outside structure and guidance.
I agree taking a pause is uncomfortable. May I offer a reframe, that it is also a sign you care about living intentionally and aligned to your values. From your post I see that you are already reevaluating which is a good first step towards a better more satisfying future.
