Single mom

Hi there, recently became a single mom. It’s been hard managing my child and with daily life issues. Don’t have a great relationship with my family to have conversations with. Neither do I have friends that I have been in touch with since getting married. Feel all alone in this and it’s kinda of tough. Any single moms out there experiencing similar situation and would like your input of how you cope. Sometimes all I need is someone to chat with about my struggles and what I face day to day with someone who will be able to understand in my same position. Hoping to hear from any single moms.

Hello! I’m not a single mom but when I read your post I just had the urge to respond to you because it sounds like such a big weight to be carrying :frowning: it really sounds tough raising a baby especially since I’ve always heard that it’s a 24/7 job and not something you can hit pause on so I hear how tiring you must feel when you’re holding all this on your shoulders. I don’t really have any ideas on how to cope but I hope that at the very least, letting your thoughts out here helps share some of the emotional stress you’ve been holding onto! All the best! You got this! :rose:

hii, thanks for sharing!!

some coping ideas:

  • dont stress yourself out too much; pick like 1 or 2 things that must happen today, and let the rest be optional

  • lower the bar for meals and chores? even an imperfect attempt is great

  • joining a small parenting group or support group can help u get in touch with others that u can relate to!

if you need someone to talk to for emotional support, you can reach out to national mindline 1771. it is 24 hours and you can call, web chat, or whatsapp.

Hey @user489804 ,

I’m not a single mom, but your message really touched my heart. It sounds really hard, and thank you for sharing your story with us. Motherhood is something that I really look up to, and I think you are really brave and strong. Even with difficulties, just know that your child is so lucky to have you. You got this! Things will get better one day, and everything will be worth it.
