I agree that we should not dewell too long on something - that might lead to negative impacts like rumination and negative thoughts. But taking time to breathe and grieve what was lost, or to learn from your mistakes. Sweeping our feelings under the mat and simply ignoring it might lead to repressed feelings which will eventually burst. It’s better to have a healthy coping mechanism and process our feelings.
