When People's Passion towards special need and people with mental health issues are just nothing but publicity lies

i do understand the limitations. just making a quick example not everything works for everyone. And not everyone will let you test and stretch the limitations.

And many volunteers here seem to believe that the “template” comfort reply they are taught off works for everyone.

Sometimes many things just cannot be learned from the textbooks, just take hackers for example. The world best hackers dont learn hacking in schools or books.

And many resources that you can easily find from gov directory is pretty much outdated. And the last update is pretty much the time when they create the list. Still…imagine helping people by directing them to outdated resources? Are you helping or making it worse for them to feel another rejection?

I would rather the volunteer try calling a few vwos and fact check the resources and stick to them. That is what i do when i was a volunteer medical escort for seniors. And its not even part of my job, just helping them to find more support.

I do remember not sure which volunteer who always ask me to seek help from my MP. So when i finally wrote a email to my MP, guess what was his reply? He just told me he will spend the next 5 yrs of his term to make things right for everyone. So…i am not sure to be pleased by his reply or to be pissed with it.

End of the day, in some cases words really matters, if what is say actually backfired, it might just cause a life. And whats more this is virtual forum, you are not talking to them on the spot.

(to FuYuan Affections) I’ll be honest. I have been reading your replies and they sound very AI-generated. The excessive use of em dashes is a major red flag. Along with the italics. If you are truly a professional, I hope you change your ways, because this is a forum for people who have real issues. Using AI to generate responses while under the guise of replying as a mental health professional is reprehensible beyond belief.

really…i didnt noticed, just find it easy to read. And counselling might be the first job in future to be fully replace by AI. Since there isnt much difference between human and AI counselling and Ai might do a better job in terms of directing to the correct resources and provide no judgemental points.
