Hi there,

Thank you for sharing that with us. From what I am hearing, it does sound like you are carrying a huge amount of weight right now. It is valid and real that you are feeling this way especially losing your spouse, and navigating through family tensions, workplace stress and a painful situation with someone you trusted enough to open up to. I cannot imagine how that is like for a person to bear, especially for over a long period of time.

You sound like someone who has a lot of self-awareness and maturity especially when you walked away from the argument. It sounds like you are experiencing isolation, grief, stress and feeling like you cannot turn to anyone. These are valid and real experiences that deserves support. Given that you have been going through this for a long period of time, I do feel like it’s worth reaching out for further support. Here are some resources you can consider moving forward,

  1. Mindline 1771 has counsellors round the clock. They do provide brief counselling or emotional support for anyone who needs it. In addition, they can also explore some of the resources that might be useful for you in the long term. You can either call in to 1771 or WhatsApp them at +65 6669 1771.
  2. If you want to speak to a professional, you can also head down to your nearest polyclinic to consult a GP for assessment. From there, they may be able to refer you to speak to a mental health professional

A reminder for you that you don’t have to go through this alone
