Is this normal to be on this for so long

I’m an adolescent and lately ive been getting mood swings and overthinking a lot. it’s affected my energy and over all life and ive lost interest in what I love to do most. before this though i lost my best friend who, now that i think about it, i actually liked and he liked me too. but nothing happened and he suddenly and abruptly stopped the friendship and i haven’t been able to move on.

Dear @lwksodone

Thank you for reaching out. Reading your post I can sense that you are feeling the loss of your best friend. The friendship ended abruptly and there has been no closure. Understandably your mind is constantly thinking repeatedly about what could have led to the suddenness of your friend’s departure, and wonder what could have been had he not left.

I believe the mood swings, overthinking, low energy, and losing interest in things you love are symptoms of unprocessed grief and hurt. It would be good to talk to a school counsellor to sort out these feelings and figure out steps that will help get back on track.

Do be compassionate to yourself as you heal. It will take time to process what has happened so give yourself the time and space to grieve fully. Seek help soon, so that you don’t face this alone any longer. :yellow_heart:
