Do y’all think one month or two weeks unpaid leave break will beneficial to me..?
I told my manager that I wish to have a month break on Tuesday… and she asked me what was the reason. I replied that I need rest… The conversation ended and she said she will discuss with assistant manager.
These days, I having bowel problems and sometimes brain fog at work. I have difficulty travelling smoothly to work as I need to go toilet a few times (previously gastronelogist found no issue and thinks its stress issue) I also have social anxiety symptoms like trembling when eating with more than 3ppl, have difficulty handling telephone calls, nausea during work meeting.
Hello @thatlittlemelody thank you for sharing this. It really sounds like you’ve been going through a lot both physically and mentally. I think it’s incredibly strong of you to recognise that you need rest and to actually take the step to tell your manager about it. That takes courage, especially when you’re already feeling anxious and unwell.
Your body and mind are clearly trying to tell you that they need a break. The bowel issues, brain fog, and anxiety are all signs of stress taking a toll. It’s not a weakness to step back; it’s a way of taking care of yourself before things get worse. You truly deserve that time to rest and recover.
Whether it ends up being a month or even just two weeks, what matters most is giving yourself permission to slow down and breathe again. Be gentle with yourself. You’ve been pushing through so much for so long, and taking time off doesn’t mean you’re giving up. It means you’re choosing to heal.

Dear @thatlittlemelody
Thank you for writing in here and sharing what has been happening. I am glad you are taking this break to recharge and reset. I believe your body has been telling you that you are in pain and it needs a break. The fact that you are listening to what your body is conveying and taking action is a wonderful act of self care, so well done.
It may be helpful for you to consider getting some support from a counsellor to address and learn techniques to manage the stress you are in during this break.
If possible do also consider incorporating some taichi, yoga, mindfulness and leisure activities into your regular routine from now on that are both enjoyable and therapeutic.
Reconnect with friend and family and deepen your social support system, too.
Please take a good rest and recharge well!

Currently on one month break, I don’t feel anxious and bowel seemed normal. However, I now worry that if I am back to work, bowel issue might be back again…
